The battle for Bakhmut has turned into a "slaughter-fest" for the Russians, top US general Mark Milley said Wednesday. Fighting in the eastern city "has already practically destroyed the Ukrainian army," Wagner's chief claimed, adding his Russian mercenaries had also "been pretty battered."
