Dodijeljene BAFTA nagrade: Pobjedu odnio "The Power of the Dog", ali "Dune" ima najviše simpatija

Nagrade za najbolji film i najbolju režiju osvojio je "The Power of the Dog" koji je imao osam nominacija.

Kao što se i očekivalo, "Dune" koja je na dodjelu došla sa čak 11 nominacija, dominirala je kategorijama, a osvojili su ukupno pet nagrada među kojima su ona za kinematografiju, specijalne vizuelne efekte, zvuk, originalnu partitaturu i produkcijski dizajn.

Dvije pobjede također su osvojili "CODA" - za najboljeg sporednog glumca (Troy Kotsur) i najbolji originalni scenarij, zatim "West Side Story" za sporednu glumicu (Ariana DeBose) i casting. Ostale kategorije su pripale Willu Smithu za glavnog glumca u "Kralju Richardu" i u, kako piše The Hollywood reporter, možda najneočekivanijem rezultatu večeri, Joanni Scanlan za "After Love".

Domaćin ceremonije je bila australska glumica i komičarka Rebel Wilson koja je u jednom trenutku ruskom predsjedniku Vladimiru Putinu pokazala srednji prst. Tokom svečanosti je bilo riječi o ratu u Ukrajini, a neki nominovani umjetnici su nosili vrpce i bedževe u plavim i žutim bojama.
